Sunday Funday.

I wasn't going to say anything until it was official... so here it is, I'm going to visit Carter in two weeks! The tickets are booked and it can't come soon enough. I have my next round of Chemo in about a week and if everything goes well {which it will!} I will get to visit my hubby and enjoy some baseball for the month of July. I have to come back to Portland for Chemo and my doctor appointments in August, but hopefully I will be able to go back out and visit him for the rest of the season, after I finish my treatment in August!

I'm currently not working, so I've had a lot of time to think of things that I enjoy and love to do {like art and any type of design}. Whether it's on canvas, with fashion or home decorating, I enjoy each and every aspect of it. These are things that make me happy and what I love to do. Even though I graduated with a degree in Human Development {to become an elementary school teacher} my first major in College was actually Art. I just didn't know what I wanted to do with it, so I changed it to a degree where I would be able to work with children and then continue my art as a hobby. I absolutely love kids and always knew I could be someone that spent everyday with them! However, with everything that has happened aka the tumor, going through surgery and battling this cancer, my career {especially teaching} was definitely affected. It just isn't something that I feel comfortable doing with what I lost from the surgery. As hard as it is to accept, I truly do believe that everything happens for a reason and there's a plan in store for me. I may have memory loss, trouble reading/ spelling, a hard time processing information/ associating events together, seizures and stress {and a lot more...} BUT it can always be worse and that's what I consistently tell myself and it reassures me that I'm a lucky girl and blessed.
With that, I decided to branch out and start making my blog more about fashion and home decorating but still keeping everyone up to date on my journey {of my health, Chemo and how everything is going}. I keep getting messages and questions about stuff I have in my house and things that I wear {on here, in person or on social media}. So I thought this would be the best way to get things out and do what I love. This is something I enjoy and I'm definitely a people person who loves to talk and be open with everyone. I love sharing my ideas and helping others, I hope everyone had a great weekend and get ready for new & exciting posts on "Simply, Reasons To Smile."

  1. Finally! I can't wait :)

  2. That is great, you have always been someone I look at for fashion ideas!
